WELCOME! We are The Industrial Cottage. My husband Quentin and I, and our 6 kids. Well, sort of 2 sets of 3! Three older ones, a big gap, then 3 younger ones. As you can see, from all the ages, genders, and races. We have our own special brand of crazy, and I LOVE it! Quentin and I have always been very entrepreneurial. We're both fearless, which is not always a good thing!

The Industrial Cottage was born in 2005 as a high end baby bedding manufacturer. I sewed my fingers off to get our products into retail stores across the country. Then in 2007 when the economy tanked and all the little specialty stores were going out of business, we made the hard choice to take a step back and regroup. We relocated to Virginia Beach to be near family and took a few years to get settled. During that time, we fostered and adopted 3 more kids! Insert a few crazy years there! Then we found Furniture! It is truly my passion. I love taking quality pieces, that just need a little love, updating and turning them into something beautiful that people will love all over again.

The creative genius behind it all! Her love & talent for furniture design collided with her entrepreneurial spirit to form what we know as The Industrial Cottage. What started as a hobby from their home is now a thriving brick & mortar store! When she's not running a business she's busy managing a household of 6 kids alongside her husband Quentin.

QUENTIN

WORKROOM MANAGER

Molly's husband and right-hand-man. Quentin can be found managing the back workroom & furniture production. He's also the friendly face you'll see delivering your beautiful new furniture piece to your door! When he's not in the workroom, he enjoys being out on the showroom floor meeting & chatting with customers (and don't be surprised if he offers to fix you a cup of coffee!).

Molly's dad is a talented painter & repair man. He helps prep & hand paint many of the pieces coming through the workroom. He's also our go-to for applying hardware to pieces, as his precise and steady hand get's them perfect every time! When he's not in the workroom he can be found shopping for unique vintage & antique finds for the store with his wife, Chris.

Molly's mom is the friendly face that'll greet you when you come in the door. She enjoys meeting new customers & helping them find the perfect piece. She is also mama to all the plant babies throughout the store, successfully keeping them all alive & watered for us!

This place is amazing and the owners are just wonderful! They go above and beyond. We have purchased furniture on several different occasions and are so pleased with the pieces. On the antique buffet we purchased I had mentioned that the drawers would slide down at and angle and didn’t have a stop to prevent them from being pulled all the way out. I didn’t mention it expecting them to fix it - it was just conversation about the piece and what I wanted to do to try and correct it. In my opinion they went above and beyond by fixing it before delivery. Also, the buffet had a hutch on top that we weren’t interested in and asked if they would sell the buffet alone. I was surprised when Molly said she could. ❤️ They truly care about pleasing their customers and about people in general. I will always shop there first whenever we are looking for furniture or decor for our home.

I really wish I had a before pic. This cabinet was cute and I knew she had potential, but she was clearly not living her best life. That all changed as soon as the industrial cottage got ahold of her. I cannot believe how great this bathroom cabinet turned out. I wanted something specific for my downstairs guest restroom and I had searched high and low to find the right piece and could not find it. We just happened to be driving by the industrial cottage and because I was on the prowl for a piece of furniture I made my husband stop. When we first walked in, I knew I was in the right place. It screamed me! They had several large pieces but nothing small like what I was really looking for. I eyed this cabinet but it was much taller and I knew it would be too tall, so just when I was about to leave and throw in the towel the sweetest lady came over and asked me what I was looking for. I explained how I liked the piece but it was too tall. She said it was not a problem they could cut it down, paint it whatever I wanted, and it completely customize the piece for me. She helped me pick the most absolutely perfect color and just walked me through the entire process. I was then rang up by I am assuming the owner. He was just as nice and helpful as his mother in law. I knew the piece would be good but never expected it to be this good!! Best part was it was on sale and literally worth every penny I paid for it and more!! I cannot wait to get more pieces from them! It’s like buying art and not just some piece of furniture you can get at any box store.
